Jack’s Saybrook Steak is owned and operated by renowned Chef Jack Flaws.  Prior to its current Steak House status, it was known as Jack’s American Bistro & Wine Bar.  Jack’s has been a shoreline favorite since December of 2004.  Chef Jack is also the proud owner and operator of Dragon Dogs, a local Hot dog heaven located at the Harbor One Marina in Old Saybrook, Connecticut.  Dragon Dogs is only place of its kind to sell Jack’s Original Lobster Hot Dog TM.

A graduate of The Culinary Institute of America, Jack’s career began with the opening of a fine dining restaurant located at the Trump Tai Mahal, in Atlantic City. From there Jack traveled to Colorado where he worked at Vail’s Top French Restaurant, the Left Bank (owned by Chef Luc Meyer).  It was however, Jack’s work in NYC’s Symphony Cafe for famed Chef Neil Murphy that gained him his edge and passion for the restaurant business.  After leaving NYC Jack when back to his roots, at the beach community of Westerly Rhode Island where, as the Chef, he opened of the acclaimed Three Fish Restaurant, the reviews for this restaurant were off the charts during his stay.  Connecticut’s famous Max Downtown was his next stop.  It was during his time at Max’s that Jack decided it was time to be on his own.  “I have grown from each restaurant experience and am confident that with my skill, passion and consistency I will succeed no matter where I am”.
